Sheffield’s Paul Adam, writer of eleven thrillers for adults and the Max Cassidy series for children, talks about his books.

7.30 Three Choirs Entertain
An evening of music by three local choirs:
All Saints and Holy Trinity Millhouses Children’s Choir perform
‘The Rainboat’ by Karen Langtree. All aboard the ark for the story of Noah! This lively musical retells the well-known bible story with animals and water galore!
Sheffield Harmony Chorus, 2010 Barbershop winners at the Hazel Grove Festival and 2009 Small Chorus bronze medallists in the UK regional convention of the Sweet Adelines International, sing in 4-part harmony under the direction of Musical Director Barry Clinton.
Escafeld Chorale – these frequent guests at All Saints bring pieces by Elgar, Bruckner and a spiritual arranged by Gilbert Martin, with a final surprise ‘with a Christmassy touch’.

1.00 - 2.00 Lunchtime Recital
Regular Ecclesall duo Matthew Redfearn (trumpet/flugel horn) and Stephanie Pitts (piano) are joined by soprano Susan Yarnall (University of Chichester) for a feast of quirky French songs, lyrical English brass melodies and songs with trumpet by Sheffield composers.

7.30 Showcase 2
A miscellany of dance, drama and readings from Bailey Cox Dance Academy, Act One Drama Studio, and All Saints & Sinners.
Sheila Gascoyne from 53 Theatre Group produces.

1.00 - 2.00 Lunchtime Recital
Pat Kendall-Taylor (Piano) and Deborah Thorne (Cello) return with
Kate Leadley (Clarinet) to play trios for clarinet, cello and piano by Beethoven and Brahms.

8.00 Jazz comes to All Saints’
Sheffield University Big Band, this entirely self-supported, student-led band, one of the University’s most active and popular musical ensembles, plays the first half - followed by
Jam and Bread centred on a trio of the local area’s favourite jazz musicians: Peter Fairclough (drums), Frank Grime (bass) and
Jamie Taylor (guitar). The second half will be a mix of a few trio numbers and a lot of “sitting in”. Bring your instrument - but please don’t expect to play someone else’s - and join in the fun, in a relaxed atmosphere where players (and singers) from beginner to advanced can explore and experiment. If you’re not a player, please join us anyway for an evening of jazz - hot & cool.

11.00-12.00 Small Saints do Art!
Local art teacher Fenella Noble and Families Minister Jo Hird help little ones from the Small Saints group try their hands at something creative, alongside the usual music and stories.
12.00 - 1.00 Bents Green School Musicians
Masters of rhythm and melody cross the city from their temporary home in Norton to amaze us again with their musicality.
Entry free.
1.00 – 2.00 Festival lunch
Enjoy conversation over a lunch of soup, bread rolls and cake with friends old and new.
Charge £3.
There will be no evening event.
Saturday 6 November
The church will not be open during the day as rehearsals for the evening concert will be taking place.
7.30 Celebrity Concert by Sheffield Philharmonic Orchestra
We are delighted to welcome Sheffield Philharmonic for the first time to All Saints’ to provide a fitting finale to this year’s Festival.
Renowned piano soloist Benjamin Frith performs on our newly acquired Bechstein grand.
